Peru Travel Requirements
Peru’s entry and exit demands suggest that a valid passport is required so that you can go to any place in Peru. While there are no specific needs for immunization, people are advised to obtain the Yellow Fever vaccination before arrival. The U.S. state dept. provides additional ideas to the entry and exit needs for Peru, including how to handle it in the event your passport is lost or stolen.
Peruvian Immigration changed the process for travelers exiting Peru with an urgent situation passport or a full-validity passport released during their stay in Peru. In situations of passports which have been lost or taken, the passenger won't have the entry stamp with that they entered Peru. In instances of recently given passports, the entry stamp will likely be in cancelled passport. For that reason travelers must “transfer” the entry stamp for their new passport before they've been permitted to go through Peruvian immigration. Formerly, tourists were able to complete this method during the Jorge Chavez Airport in Lima. Now, tourists must take their new emergency passport to Peruvian Immigration headquarters at Av. España 730, Breña, Lima, available weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to buy and process the transfer. The present fee is around $8.00, or S/21.
