What is the climate in Peru?
Although Peru's seaboard can be found well in the tropical zone, it will not show an equatorial weather; average temperatures range from 21° C (70° F ) in January to 10° C (50° F ) in June at Lima, regarding the coastline. At Cuzco, within the sierra, the range is only from 12° C (54° F ) to 9° C (48° F ), while at Iquitos, in Amazon region, the heat averages about 32° C (90° F ) throughout the year. The cool south–north Humboldt (or Peruvian) present cools the ocean breezes, making a sea mist with all the inshore winds from the coastal plain. Just during the winter, from May to October, does this ocean mist (garúa) condense into about 5 cm (2 in) of rain.
Latitude has actually less impact upon the weather for the sierra than height. The rainy season in Andes stretches from October to April, the opposite of this coastal weather. Temperatures differ more from time to-night than seasonally. The snow line varies from 4, 700 to 5, 800 m (15, 500 to 19, 000 ft). Within the east rainforest, precipitation is hefty, from 190 to 320 cm (75 to 125 in) annually; rainfall falls virtually continually between October and April.
a cozy Pacific west-to-east existing known as El Niño appears close to the Peruvian shore every four to ten years around Christmastime (the name is a mention of the Christ youngster), sometimes causing serious weather condition disturbances.
